Electro-Tribal Music
The aim of Iboga is to make people travel just like the Iboga plant would. Mixing ancestral sounds from Australia, Africa and South America (Didgeridoo and drums) with electronic ones (samples, synthesizers and beat box), Iboga seeks to blend traditional music with today's sounds. The mix of electronic loops, rhythmic phrases and didgeridoo's growling bring the listener to travel around space (i.e. different countries in the world) and time (traditional and present).
Born in 2001, Iboga is based on improvisation on stage. Acoustic instruments, scratches and vinyl music merge in an innovative and modern formula. The next step was to skip the decks and bring the machines to play Iboga's own productions. From ambient to trip hop and techno, their eclectic tracks aim to link all styles.
